Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

Warilla Public School’s Wellbeing Hub
This is a calm and inviting space open to students during playtimes. Our Wellbeing Hub offers a variety of sensory options and activities tailored to students’ key interests, providing a safe and supportive environment where every child can recharge and feel grounded.
Supported by our passionate wellbeing staff, the Hub is designed to help students manage their emotions, reduce stress, and build self-awareness. Whether students need a quiet moment, sensory input, or simply a space to connect with caring adults, the Wellbeing Hub is here to support their overall wellbeing and success.
We are proud to offer this valuable resource that nurtures positive mental health and helps our students thrive both in and out of the classroom.
The Resilience Project
At Warilla Public School, we are proud to be committed to The Resilience Project, a powerful initiative dedicated to building emotional resilience and wellbeing in our school community. Through education programs, events, and wellbeing resources, The Resilience Project focuses on cultivating positive emotions based on the key pillars of Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness (GEM), alongside Emotional Literacy, Connection, and Physical Health.
We believe that by fostering these values, our students develop stronger resilience, enabling them to face life’s challenges with confidence and a positive mindset. Research shows that the more positive emotions we experience, the more resilient we become. At Warilla Public School, this commitment enriches our learning environment and supports the wellbeing and success of every student.
